Free Legal Services Available Through Santa Clara University Law School

Santa Clara University’s Law School provides free legal services through its Entrepreneurs’ Law Clinic (“ELC”).  Under the supervision of the ELC’s director, attorney Laura Norris, students provide legal counseling to startup companies on a variety of startup law issues.  The next clinic session will begin on January 7, 2015, and all legal projects will be completed by May 14, 2015.

If you would like to have the ELC take on a legal project on your behalf, please fill out the form at  http://law.scu.edu/wp-content/uploads/ELC-Client-Application-060313.pdf  and send it to  LNorris@scu.edu  by December 19, 2014.  We handle a wide variety of legal projects.  Please note, however, that though the ELC can take on projects relating to intellectual property contracts or counseling, the ELC does not file patent, trademark, or copyright registration, and does not do litigation (lawsuits).  Please do not send any confidential information in your application or otherwise provide any confidential information to the clinic.  Until we have signed a formal engagement letter with you, we are not yet your lawyers.

We are a U.S. clinic, so we cannot give advice relating to foreign laws, but can assist companies located in the U.S. or doing business in the U.S.  If you have questions about this limitation, feel free to email Laura.
