ImpactTrackerTech: A Four Part Review of Technology for SEs

We are beginning a four part series on technology tools that can benefit social enterprises where we highlight different aspects of a report by ImpactTrackerTech. ImpactTrackerTech groups these tools into four categories, digital data collection, geospatial mapping, remote sensors, and SMS communication and then ranks these tools based on criteria important to social enterprises.

The first part in the four part series is on digital data collection tools. These tools can provide several benefits to social enterprises in the field such as increasing accuracy in data collection and automatically sending survey results to a central database. ImpactTrackerTech evaluates these tools on six different categories of criterion, operating system, data collection features, type of data collected, logic functions, data transmission & analysis, and availability of language support. Based on these categories 12 data collection tools were broken up into 3 tiers from most recommended to least recommended.
